The Minnesota State Fair

Hello Guys, I have not posted anything for almost five months now because I have been very busy. Lots of things have happened in five moths worth blogging about but I didn’t cause’ I’m lazy, LOL. But I am doing one right now.

About two days ago now, which by the way is around 10:00 pm, I just got back from the Minnesota State Fair. Lots of interesting and WET things happend there but I will get to that later. When we first went in there was a needle that stood up about a hundred feet in the air that carried people up to the top and back down again. I didn’t go on it, but it seemed like fun.

I will skip ahead the the best part of the entire trip… THE RIDES!!!!!! I had so much fun! I went upside down, sideways, slant ways and any other ways you can think of! I think that I will leave the rides part at that because I can’t describe it any better than that!

After that and pretty much one of the last interesting parts of the day. While I was sitting eating my hamburger and drinking a root beer (By the way, the 1919 root beer is the best root beer in the FAIR!) I saw my sixth grade Language Arts Teacher Mr. Bodurtha waiting at the door of a BAR. And I thought, hey, my teacher is cool and you know, normal…. COOL!

I walked over there and we had a conversation and a good time. I had SO much fun that day!!!!!

Oh yeah, I told you guys about my WET experiance. My mom, aunt, uncle and I went on a river rafting ride and I GOT DRENCHED! Totally!

But a perfect end to a perfect post. See you guys later.

The Battle of the Labyrinth

I would have wrote this review about a week ago, the day I finished it, but I’ve been busy with other stuff, but here it is now.

In the middle of a sort of search and destroy game at Camp Half-Blood after fleeing from the orientation at Percy’s new high school when Percy and a monster are fighting and blows up a part of the school, Percy and Annabeth who are on a team, fall into a pit that they soon discover to be an entrance to the Labyrinth.

After a council is held, and Annabeth goes to see the oracle, she chooses Percy, Tyson, and Grover to set out on a quest through the Labyrinth to find Daedalus’s workshop and retrieve a magical item that allows you to navigate through the ever changing maze before Luke does. Because if Luke retrieves the string first, He will be able to find the entrance to Camp half-blood, and not have to worry about the magical boundaries around the demigod camp.

In the Labyrinth, Hera, saves the four of them from a premature decision conducted by the two-headed man called Janus. Hera talks of her partner, Hephaestus, and for the kids to go to him.

When the kids get to Hephaestus, he tells them to go to Mount St. Helens, and when they get there, the kids are forced to split up, and by a happy surprise, Annabeth kisses, Percy.

After fighting and fighting, Percy is thrown into the air and that somehow ends him up on an island with calypso for a companion. After a long period of time Percy is offered to go back to Camp Half-Blood, as well as stay with her. Percy loves her but he can not stay. So Percy goes back to Camp Half-Blood, not to find Grover or Tyson.

So Annabeth and Percy and Annabeth must go back into the maze, but Percy has an idea. His mortal friend can see through the mist, she can see monsters demigods, everything. So they can use her for navigation through the Labyrinth. With no problem at all the convince her to go into the Labyrinth, find an entrance, descend, and beginning their search a gain for Daedalus’s workshop. With no trouble at all, they navigate through the maze to a door, the door to Daedalus’s workshop. The open the door and find a room filled with, laptops easels, invention, blueprints and all sorts of other architectural designing tools and ideas.

They find out quick that Daedalus is an old not a friend not an enemy person from Camp Half-Blood. The kids must leave quick because monsters and Kronos’s army is at the door to kidnap and kill Daedalus. They must also take an old friend, Nico, son of Hades with them.

Once they get out of the destroyed and burning Daedalus’s workshop, they get a ride and find another entrance to the Labyrinth. Now, they need to find Grover and Tyson. In a short time, they find Tyson holding the unconscious Grover at the entrance to the Great Lost God Pan’s cave.

The Great God Pan speaks prophesies of the future for all who are around him, except Nico.Grover must return to Camp Half-Blood and tell the Council of Cloven Elders that the Great God Pan is dead.

After a difficult Council of convincing them of the death of the Great God Pan, Everyone lines up around the entrance to the Labyrinth, because Kronos is now back in is full form and is probably sending part of his army to invade Camp Half-Blood. Every Half-Blood in the Camp knows that they are in for the battle of a lifetime!

The Army of Kronos bursts through the Labyrinth, and the fight begins. Afters hours of fight, Grover is possessed by the God Pan for a few seconds, long enough to drive the Army of the Titan Lords Army back into the Labyrinth, to retreat. After that, Nico talks to Percy and says that he does not belong here, anywhere, and with that, Nico descended into the forest and disappears.

Chiron with a broken leg, decides to tell Percy to go home too his mother. And when he gets there, Percy’s 15th birthday party i going on. Percy’s Mom is going to get married to Paul Blofis and Poseidon comes to visit Percy freaking out his mother and unsettles Paul.

Percy and Poseidon talk about stuff he came to his birthday part, it means the world to him! After Poseidon leaves, Percy goes to his room to think things over. When he gets there, he finds Nico out on the fire escape, who found out a way to beat Luke and the evil Titan Lord.

Percy invites him in, They have a lot to talk about.

The Titan’s Curse

(I know that it hasn’t been long since I did another Percy Jackson book blog post, two down from this is “The Sea of Monsters” blog post. But I finished relatively quickly on the next one so here is my review):

The Titan’s Curse is no worse than the last two, IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Percy ends up going on a quest that is not permitted with the help of Annabeth’s invisibility cap. The reason Annabeth does not have her invisibility cap with her is because after getting an urgent call from Grover that he has fount two Half-Bloods at a school that he has sneaked into to recruit, well, Half-Bloods. On their way back to camp after being attacked by a Manticore, Annabeth is throne off the cliff side and into the clutches of Luke and The General, also known as Kronos’s right hand man. Before that Artemis, Goddess of the Moon and leader of The Hunt and the hunters come and save the kids from a bloody death, but does not succeed in saving Annabeth from her fate. Artemis sends help from her brother Apollo, God of the Sun, to take them to camp in his sun chariot while she goes off to find a monster that can destroy Olympus.

Once the kids get to camp, Percy and Zoe, Artemis’ second in command hunter, are having nightmares. Percy is dreaming about Luke betraying Annabeth and tricking her to hold the burden of the sky. Percy must save her from Luke! Zoe is dreaming about Artemis she is in trouble. She let Annabeth’s burden go so she is holding the sky. Zoe must save Artemis from The General! So Percy is not going on the quest (or at least he isn’t supposed to) because he is not permitted to go. Zoe, Grover, and Thalia are going to save Artemis. But Percy must save Annabeth, so he goes along too, secretly.

Obviously, he is found out because he tells the people he is secretly following that a monster is coming. They fight them off no problem, but Percy isn’t a secret anymore.

Once the group gets to the mountain where Artemis is kept. They find her and Annabeth there with Luke and the General. Luke is beaten by Thalia, in a sword on spear one on one battle. He is throne off of a cliff. The General is tricked into holding up the sky so that all seven of them can get away.

After they get back to amp, Percy tells Nico, another Half-Blood, that his sister is dead even though he was supposed to keep her safe on the quest. Nico releases his unknown powers as the son of Hades. Now, if you have read The Lightning Thief, you know that the Gods of The Big Three, are not supposed to have kids with mortals. But Poseidon and Zeus broke that oath. Poseidon had Percy, and Zeus had Thalia, and Hades had none, as far as we know. You see, also in The Lightning Thief, The kids, Bianca and Nico, got stuck in the Lotus hotel and were there for centuries. So it makes sense, Hades had his children before the oath was made, and he just forgot over the centuries.

Nico storms off, from Percy after unleashing his powers and now he is lost, not lost from himself, but from the campers. Because if Kronos figures out that Nico is a son of The Big Three, than he can manipulate him to be the weapon to use for the downfall of Olympus!

The Sea of Monsters

About five minutes ago, I finished the second Rick Riordan Percy Jackson book, The Sea of Monsters. All of the same characters except for Percy’s new brother who is a cyclops named Tyson. They met at Percy’s new school. But on the last day of school, (Percy hasn’t been expelled yet) Annabeth comes in and saves Percy from giant cannibalistic monsters, trashing the gym, getting Percy expelled, again. They go to Camp Half-Blood to find that Thalia’s Tree has been poisoned, destroying the Camp’s magical bounds, allowing monsters to come in at will. So Percy must go on a quest that isn’t his to The Sea of Monsters to rescue the golden fleece guarded by the killer cyclops called Polyphemus who unknowingly wants to marry Grover who stumbled across the Monsters island on his personal quest to find Pan.

Once Percy and Annabeth get to the island they get Grover out of there and manage to get the golden fleece and escape from the island in one piece. On their way back to camp, they meet up with an old enemy, Luke. Luke almost kills Percy but Chiron, a Centaur and his brethren come and save Percy from a fight that would be lost.

When they get back to camp, they stat with fleece immediately and it heals the Camp’s boundaries in a heart beat. But the fleece works it’s magic a little too well. It brings Thalia back to life!

Animal Biology Update

Filed under: Uncategorized — John @ 6:23 pm

Hi guys, I just wanted to let you guys know that My website animalbiology.webs.com has a lot of good stuff in it, games, info on animals, pictures of wildlife etc. And I have over six pages of content, and all of them flooded with all sorts of cool content, and the highest number of hits that I have ever gotten in the many months that the website has been live on the web is three. I need more people looking at my site or I might as well stop posting stuff and take it off the air. Because if no one is reading it, what is the point of it existing?! I have gotten a literal “couple” of people to help support the site, and I thank you so much, Mike and Lottie. Thank you everyone!

The Red and The Blues

Today, I have been living in Minnesota for a week. It was about time that we are in a blue state living around people who aren’t either completely insane and don’t get the point of anything, or just, well, let’s say misinformed. I would like to use a lot more stronger words than that, (because I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I sort of resent Texas. I have lived in lots of parts of Texas, and everywhere I go there, the people there are just so stupid and horribly bad), but for the sake of the people who know me, I wouldn’t want to mess up a good word press reputation.

But in Minnesota it is so much different, I haven’t even started going to school here yet and I can already tell that this is going to be much better than Tex-ass. I am going to start school on Monday. At the beginning of the day, the principal and I along with my mom are going to have a meeting and go on a tour of the school. I have already signed up for Choir and Chess Club, and I am thinking about joining Anime Club. But first I want to know what they do in Anime Club. But I think I will end up in it. In three months and five days when summer starts. I might be going to a sort of summer thing called Summer Uproar

If you hadn’t noticed that things are going great in Minnesota, you will now. It is a possibility that Mike will be here by the summer time, and I will be with my dad instead of going to the Summer Uproar.

Minnesota, is, AWESOME!

Raccon Research Paper For My Homeschool

Filed under: Animals — John @ 3:54 pm

I started homeschooling last week, and I saw a raccoon a few days after that. I was at my friends house in his truck and we saw a raccoon in his yard so I did a research paper on them for school, so here it is.

Raccoons

Raccoons have many different names such as, racoon, Northern raccoon, The North American raccoon, the common raccoon, and colloquially the coon. Or as scientists know it as “Procyon lotor”, is a medium sized mammal that it indigenous to North America. They are one of Americas most recognizable animals with their “Bandit’s Mask” and their ring tail. And they live up to their “masks”. They are known for tipping over trash cans, stealing pet food and breaking into houses. Most of the time they use, chimneys and attics to get into houses. And when they do, you better get an exterminator and a food delivery man to come to your house. In fact, raccoons are known to have 20 times as many population in urban areas rather than in the typical rural habitats. They are found in all major habitats across America

Raccoons can carry rabies as any other animal can, but they can be mean. When they feel that they are being threatened, the stand on their hind legs with outstretched arms as if he wanted to give you a big hug. And he will scrunch up his face and make a weird hissing slash growling sound, jump up and……… yeah.

Raccoons have a very flexible diet. I consists of things like fruits, vegetables, acorns, earthworms, fish, and other aquatic animals such as crayfish when available. They are not exactly effective hunters, but they do also dine on mice, amphibians, and birds. And their cravings for sweet corn and grapes, (fruit and vegetables) sometimes come to conflict with gardeners and farmers.

Raccoons are mostly nocturnal. At daytime they are mostly in their dens. Their dens are cavities in trees and sometimes in chimneys and attics. As well as underground in old woodchuck burrows, storm sewers, or crawl spaces under buildings. When they feel that they are in a safe and secure area, the usually just lie in thickets or swamps on open ground.

Mother raccoons give birth to up to three cubs at a time from early sping to early summer. When they are about two months old they are weaned, but spend the first winter with their mothers.

Not The Passion Of The Christ

Filed under: Athiest, Humor, Religion — John @ 1:46 pm
Tags: , , , , , ,

A few days ago, I watching a DVD that my mom got for Christmas called “The God That Wasn’t There”. And on that DVD, they started to talk about how Christians are obsessed with Blood Sacrifice. And they showed some clips from “The Passion of The Christ”. And through out the entire three hour ordeal, there is only six minutes that has no blood or violence. And Christians chose it as the best Jesus movie out of all of Jesus Movies.

And that is not the only evidence that Christians are obsessed with Blood Sacrifice. There is also the song “Are You Washed in the Blood”:

D G D
Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?
A7
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
D G
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
D A7 D
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Chorus:
D G
Are you washed in the blood,
D A7
In the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb?
D G
Are your garments spotless are they white as snow?
D A7 D
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you walking daily by the savior’s side?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Do you rest each moment in the Crucified?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Chorus

When the Bridegroom cometh, will your robes be white?
Pure and white in the blood of the Lamb?
Will your souls be ready for the mansions bright
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Chorus

Lay aside your garments that are stained with sin
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb.
There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean.
O, be washed in the blood of the Lamb!

And at the end of the Movie there was an interview with the headmaster of a Christian school. And the reporter (The reporter is an Atheist)

Headmaster: “There is never going to be any 100% scientific evidence in our life time, so what we are teaching these kids is a faith issue.”

Reporter: “Well don’t you think that it is wrong that you are teaching children things as if they are facts when you don’t have any evidence that is true?!”

Headmaster: “No it is not wrong, like I said it is a faith issue.”

And then when he couldn’t answer the questions asked by the reporter, he said “You have been dishonest in this interview.” and the reporter said ” how am I not being honest. I called you and said that I would come down here today and would ask you some questions, and I did.” The head master said “You have been dishonest.” Then he just upped and left the room.

Warning: This Video May be disturbing to some viewers. Viewer Discretion is advised

Just Pay attention to the Jesus parts, not the devil parts.

Pretty Gruesome stuff huh.
